As part of the global 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence (GBV), Gray Network, in collaboration with the PLAN Ghana Alumni Network, organized a community-wide awareness campaign in Ho Municipality. The initiative aimed to raise public awareness on the consequences of sexual and gender-based violence (SGBV), promote reporting of such cases, and encourage community responsibility in prevention.

  • Organized Public Engagement Activities in key locations including the streets, Lorry Park, and market areas of Ho.
  • Carried out a float through the principal streets of Ho to create widespread awareness on SGBV.
  • Educated the public on the consequences of SGBV, its impact on individuals and communities, and the importance of prevention.
  • Promoted the “See Something, Say Something” message, urging community members to speak out and take action against SGBV.
  • Provided information on reporting channels, ensuring the public knew where and how to report SGBV cases.

Facilitated open dialogues with market women, transport operators, traders, and youth groups to break the silence surrounding SGBV

  1. Hundreds of community members reached with clear messages on SGBV prevention and reporting.
  2. Community members now better understand how and where to report cases of SGBV.
  3. The public march, float, and market engagement created strong visibility for the campaign’s message.

Sexual and gender-based violence is a violation of human rights and a barrier to equality, safety, and community development. Through this campaign, Gray Network and PLAN Ghana Alumni Network reinforced the need for community vigilance and collective action—because when we see something and say something, we can stop GBV together.

We are on a mission to empower the youth and the world
