GRAY Network organized a two-day in-house trainer-of-trainers (ToT) capacity-building program for its members. The training focused on Women in Leadership and Youth in Budget Advocacy, equipping participants with the skills to enhance their own leadership and advocacy while preparing them to train and mentor peers in their communities.
Peer-to-Peer Trainer-of-Trainers Approach
- Civic rights, responsibilities, and active citizenship.
- Digital advocacy (WhatsApp campaigns), policy engagement, lobbying, and public speaking.
- Leadership, negotiation, facilitation, communication, and community mobilization.
- Graphic design, design thinking, and social media for advocacy and activism.
- Monitoring and evaluation skills for tracking the impact of future trainings.
20 members trained (17 females, 3 males) — all prepared to replicate and extend the knowledge to other young people.
- Strengthened leadership, advocacy, and digital skills among participants.
- Increased confidence in facilitation and public speaking.
- Improved knowledge of budget advocacy and youth participation in governance.
- Participants committed to cascading skills to their peers through community trainings.
By using a trainer-of-trainers model, this initiative ensures the impact goes beyond the 20 participants. Each participant becomes a catalyst for broader youth empowerment, enabling more young women and men to engage in governance, advocacy, and democratic processes across their communities.
